Crew Sign-Up

We are happy to hear that you are interested in crewing for us at Love and Duty in 2024. To set reasonable expectations before the event we have tried to summarise what we can provide and what we expect from you.

Currently all our crew spots are filled, but you are more than welcome to sign up for the waiting list and we will let you know if there are dropouts.

The kitchen team will consist of:

  • One cook who is in charge of planning the Upstairs meals and leading the work in preparing this food.
  • One cook who is in charge of planning the Downstairs meals and leading the work in preparing this food.
  • Three additional kitchen helpers who assist in cooking, dishwashing, and carrying groceries.

On top of this we have two additional crew spots:

  • The musician, who is expected to play music during dance practices and during the evening dances. There is a piano on-site, but you can of course also play another instrument, like the violin. This person will also be in charge of the breakfasts.
  • The dance instructor, who is expected to teach the four dances during practices and call the dances in the evenings. This person will also be in charge of the breakfasts.

We also have two spots that have already been cast.

  • The butler, who functions as a downstairs GM and boss.
  • The housekeeper, who also functions as a downstairs GM and boss.

There will be three meals served during the day – breakfast, lunch/luncheon (different for Downstairs and Upstairs) and dinner (also different for Upstairs/Downstairs). On top of this there will also be light food served after the Upstairs balls.

Crew members are expected to arrive before the players and are welcome from Tuesday afternoon, and staying until Sunday evening or Monday morning. They are welcome to use the spa on the off-game days.

What we provide:

  • For the kitchen crew: Lodgings in an apartment, five minutes drive from the location. For the rest of the crew: A bed on-site.
  • A place to rest during the day if needed.
  • Food and drink during the entire event, as well as snacks and energy drinks.
  • Access to the spa area during the off-game days, either before player arrival or at the same time as players.
  • A designated organiser that you can go to with any concerns.
  • A character. (These will be slightly more shallow for the kitchen crew.)
  • Hopefully a fun team experience where you feel valued for your contributions to this larp.
  • A voucher for €100 that you can use to pay for a ticket at a future Atropos larp (provided you get a spot in a lottery).

What we expect from the kitchen crew:

  • That you will prepare meals both during workshops and during the larp itself.
  • To also do the dishes, except when the other crew-members are scheduled to do it.
  • To assist us with things before/after the larp like carrying groceries as well as moving furniture.
  • To be in charge of all parts of the first in-game dinner (including serving) so that the Downstairs players can start their game on their own.
  • To take care of your own off-game needs and let the organisers know if something is breaking in the game.
  • For at least parts of the kitchen team to be able to go shopping for groceries if we run out.
  • To set up your own travel to and from the location (we can facilitate pick-ups in Teterow), as well as make sure you have a suitable in-game costume.
  • That you will not be going clearly off-game in the kitchen unless it is needed in order to make the food, and that when you are outside the kitchen you will interact as your character.

What we expect from the rest of the crew:

  • Assistance in holding workshops.
  • One dishwashing session a day.
  • To identify things that might be negatively impacting the Downstairs play and either fix it independently or bring it to the organisers.
  • For the musician and dance instructor: To also prepare the breakfast each morning, including the off-game days.
  • For the butler and housekeeper: To lead the team of servants and create a functioning work dynamic, where they can turn to you with any issues.
  • To set up your own travel to and from the location (we can facilitate pick-ups in Teterow), as well as make sure you have a suitable in-game costume.

If all of this sounds interesting and you would like to join the crew, head over to the sign-up here!
